Hi, here's a little about me!
I'm originally from South Africa and moved to Canada in 2001. I currently live in White Rock and I have 9 year old son.
I completed my Early Childhood Education certificate at Langley College in 2010.
I've just loved working in this field with children and their families. I'm passionate about the importance of providing high quality care to children and to help create a warm and welcoming environment where their curiosity is ignited.
Photography has been an important part of my life for the past few years - I especially enjoy capturing little moments of connection between family members in my photos.
I also love the outdoors and often take time to enjoy our beautiful forest.
For 20 years, I have enjoyed being a child care provider. I have my Early Childhood Education Certificate along with my Infant Toddler & Special Needs Certifications. I have worked with children of all ages. I find it most rewarding to care for infants and toddlers.
My friends and family would describe me as kind, reliable, and trust worthy.
Some of my hobbies are spending time with my family, travelling, camping, and relaxing with my friends.
What I love about Baby Acorns is the team dynamic and the boutique style childcare that we offer to the community.
I'm excited to collaborate with my co-workers and our families to provide the best quality child care.
Hello,
My name is Stephenie, and I am one of the teachers at Blossoms & Roots.
I have been a child educator for more than 5 years now, working with children from all age groups. I hold certifications in Early Childhood Education, Infant & Toddler, and Special Needs too.
I love working with children and helping them grow and develop. Each new step, each new word, each new discovery they make brings joy to my heart. I strive to provide your children with a safe, supportive, and interesting learning environment.
During my free time, I love to travel, watch movies, spend time with my family and friends, play with my two cats, and dine out with my husband. I also love to have yummy foods and lemon tea.
I completed my Early Childhood Education Program at Surrey Community College in 2014. More recently, I obtained my Infant and Toddler Certification. I have spent much of my life enjoying dance and cheerleading competitively. During that time, I also coached young children in dance, cheerleading and swimming. It gives me great pleasure when I see them succeed. I know that’s where my love for teaching children has come from.
What I love most about being a team member at Baby Acorns is the people. My amazing co-workers, the children and all of the wonderful families we see every day. They make coming to “work” so easy and a great pleasure. I love the boutique style of care we offer because it makes all of us feel like one big family.
My hobbies include: spending time with my family and friends, walking my two rescue fur babies, swimming, photography, working out and paddle boarding.
I have recently just started my career as an ECE assistant and so far it has been amazing! I am currently enrolled at Douglas College to work towards my full ECE certification. I love working with the little ones, but love spending time with children of all ages! Their curiosity and sense of wonder in the world is so fascinating and intriguing to me. I believe every child has a special gift and it’s our goal as teachers to help support and grow their gifts for the world.
I love my co-workers. This team has such a supportive dynamic. As well as the children I get to spend my time with. They are all beautiful inside and out and I feel so lucky to be apart of the team.
When I’m not working or doing school work I enjoy exercising by going to the gym, doing yoga or dancing in a style called “hoop flow”. I also love trying out new places to eat with my husband, we love to try new food!
I am thrilled to introduce myself. I come with a wealth of experience and expertise to our learning community.
In the past, before joining this team, I worked as a police officer in the UK. However, my passion for education and child development led me to transition into a role as a support worker at The Centre for Child Development, where I provided one-on-one support for children with diverse learning challenges and special needs. I have also served as a lead ECE for Oxford Kids and Wind and Tide Preschool.
Before delving into early education, I pursued my interest in counseling by working as a Voluntary Counsellor. This experience has equipped me with a unique perspective and understanding of the social and emotional needs of children.
Apart from my professional accomplishments, I am also a devoted parent myself. I have spent years as a stay-at-home mom and as an in-home childcare provider. My dedication to my own children and my commitment to supporting others make me a compassionate and nurturing educator.
I am excited to work with your child and support their growth and development. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions, concerns, or feedback. I am looking forward to collaborating with you to create a positive and enriching experience for your child.
Warm regards,
